1. Digital Handshake
Welcome to Vice Casting. We operate as an independent fan community and resource hub. To provide access to the Server Room, Job Centre, and Resident Dossiers, we need to collect specific information. Your privacy is handled with ‘Shadow’ discretion. By using this platform, you agree to the protocols outlined below.
2. Intelligence We Collect
We limit the amount of personal information we collect to only what is necessary for your ‘Underworld Passport’ to function.
Voluntary Data: Information you provide for your Dossier, such as your Alias and verified hardware.
Technical Metadata: We may collect information about your device or your general location to optimize the HUD (Heads-Up Display).
Activity Logs: We monitor which sectors (pages) you visit and how long you spend on them to improve The Agency (Platform).
3. Cookie Protocol
We use software cookies to monitor activity and ensure your session remains secure.
Essential Cookies: Necessary for the ‘Pawn Shop’ (Stripe) and secure login areas to function.
Analytics Cookies: Used to track high-traffic ‘Transmissions’ and user flow so we can optimize the grid.
Affiliate Tracking: As an Amazon Associate, we use cookies to track qualifying purchases.
4. Financial Security
Vice Casting does not store sensitive financial data like bank cards. All transactions are handled via the Stripe gateway. We only receive confirmation that your ‘Clearance’ (subscription) is active.
5. Data Retention & Sharing
Retention: We keep information you provide while your account is active.
Anonymity: We try to use information in an anonymous format to protect individuals. Anonymous data (not including your name) may be kept longer for social media or platform improvements.
Third-Party Disclosure: We will not share your personal information with anyone else.
6. Your ‘Clearance’ Rights
You have specific rights regarding the information we hold:
Access: You can ask us to give you your information.
Rectify: You can ask us to fix your information if it is wrong.
Erasure: You can ask us to delete your information.
Withdrawal: You can change your answer to ‘no’ at any time, though this may result in you no longer being able to enter the Job Centre.
7. Authority & Complaints
If you have concerns regarding your data or wish to exercise your rights, please contact The Clerk directly at clerk@vicecasting.com.
Formal Complaints: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK regarding our collection and use of your personal information. They can be reached at 0303 123 1113 or via www.ico.org.uk/concerns.
International Residents: If you access Vice Casting from outside the United Kingdom, your data is handled under the same high-security protocols, and you maintain the right to contact your local data protection authority.
8. Legal Status & Non-Affiliation
Vice Casting is a standalone community project. We are not a talent agency or a casting house for film, television, or news media.
Corporate Independence: We are not affiliated, associated, authorised, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with any global media corporations, digital publishing entities, or their subsidiaries.
Gaming IP: We are not affiliated with any game developers or publishers. All game-related imagery and references are used under “Fair Use” for community commentary and resource-sharing purposes.
9. Affiliate & Commercial Disclosure
Vice Casting participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk.
Earnings Disclaimer: As an Amazon Associate, Vice Casting earns from qualifying purchases made through links in the Pawn Shop or other editorial content.
No Added Cost: This tracking does not increase the price of the items for the Resident; the commission is paid by the retailer as a referral fee for the Agency’s curation.
Data Impact: Clicking an affiliate link will place a third-party cookie on your device to track the referral for a specified window (typically 24 hours).
10. Subscription & Refund Policy
Vice Casting operates a Digital-First service. By activating a ‘Clearance’ level (Subscription), you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Immediate Access: Upon successful transaction, you receive immediate access to the ‘Server Room’ or ‘Resident Dossiers’. As this is a digital service delivered instantly, you explicitly waive any right to a “cooling-off” period once the service has commenced.
All Sales are Final: We do not issue refunds for any subscription terms, whether active, partial, or past. This applies to the Resident ‘Intake’ and both Server ‘Listing/Featured’ tiers.
No Guaranteed Results: Vice Casting is a facilitation platform. We provide the “Grid” (Visibility), but we do not guarantee specific recruitment numbers, server population growth, or “clicks.” Success depends on your own content and community engagement.
Self-Service Cancellations: Residents and Server Owners are responsible for managing their own subscriptions. You may “cut ties” (cancel) at any time via your Account Settings. Cancellations must be made before the next billing cycle to avoid further charges. We do not issue refunds for “forgotten” cancellations or failed manual bank stop-orders.
